We are less than two months from my husband’s little sister’s wedding. Eeeeeek!
It is always exciting when someone is getting married, but even more exciting when your whole family gets to be part of it! Chris will be a groomsmen, my little men are ring bearers and I get to be a bridesmaid. From the moment I was asked to be a bridesmaid I was planning a bridal shower (in my head of course.. ok, on Pinterest as well). Once I got the go ahead from the maid of honor, it was full speed ahead!
It would have been awesome to host it at our new place, but 99% of the guests would have been driving 45 minutes or so and I wanted a good turn out for the bride so, I went to plan B. Find an awesome location in Portland that was convenient for everyone and within my budget. I am so thankful that I found the Madison Suite! It was perfect. The owner was over-the-top accommodating, the room was gorgeous and the location was central.
We went with a kitchen theme and I kept the food simple with fresh fruit, croissants, cinnamon roles, mini yogurt parfaits and of course, a tower of white powdered donuts.
Aren’t the rings fun? You can get them online at Oriental Trading.
I wanted the guests to take a little something home so, I whipped up these cupcakes-in-jar with some adorable chevron spoons for the shower favors. I stayed with the colors of the room which were purple and silver and Mom helped me out with a little tag on top for each that read “Let them eat cake”.
So fun and I now I cannot wait for the big day!
I am not sure what I am to comment on the boys or the shower so I will do both. The boys are adorable as usual and Heather you did a great job with the shower. Thank you so much for sharing all of it and I know Kellie was thrilled with all her wonderful gifts. You are a great sister to her. We all love you very much.
