So this is how my day went..
Drove 20 minutes to drop the boys at school and then Keaton and I had to waste an hour and a half before going back for the big Mother’s Day tea. Remember last year? So sweet! So nice! So not like this year..
Coen is now in Mrs. Rachel’s class so it was his turn to host the tea. Mrs. Rachel had the cute tea cups, the flowers, table clothes, all so adorable. Then Coen gave me this:
As I was telling him how sweet and thoughtful it was, he interrupted me, took it back and said he couldn’t wait to show it to Daddy. Nice. First, he loves me like he would love a waitress now, I don’t even get to keep the Mother’s Day “gift”.
Mrs. Zoe thought ahead and asked if Carter could join us for tea since his tea was going to be held tomorrow and he would miss it. He was excited to come next door and have a muffin. He then gave me his gift.
So cute!
So… oh, what’s the word. I think the kids are saying “epic fail” now.
Seriously? I NEVER make him laugh? I NEVER do crazy things? I admit I’m not the wildest of moms, but we do have our dance parties and I have been told that I’m silly more than once by a particular 4 year old. Do you just love what I am good at? Basically being his slave, getting him food and turning on movies. And Ramen? You’re killing me, Bud. The food I cook best is Ramen?
Just to twist the knife while it was lodged in my gut, he asked if he could go back to his class. He was done with this tea party.
Little do they know, I have a blog, and I document these things. And, I WILL be brining it up years from now during a routine guilt trip just like any decent mother would.
Happy Mother’s Day
Funny!! Don’t feel bad though, I did a questionnaire similar to this with Isabelle and her responses were just as good. One question was what do you and mommy do for fun? She responded with “Watch TV and wait for daddy.” Really out of all the things we do that is what she thinks. Pretty sad

LOL! Out of the mouths of babes…. Don’t take it to heart. (And, Storm, don’t you take it to heart either!) This will be one of those things you will be laughing about later….(really, you will!) You are doing a great job as a Mommy!
Gramma Cupcake
You know how Carter likes to be “on stage”. He probably thought HIS teacher thought he was funny.
Heather you are a great Mom, The boys are little and just don’t think about all you do for them. But it was so cute reading about your day, I loved it and laughed through the whole blog. Keep up the good work, someday they will appreciate it. Love ya.
