bathroom sneak peak – wood tile

Why am I not showing you the entire bathroom “after” photo? Because it doesn’t exist yet. We’ve made huge progress, but it turns out that renovating a bathroom with 3 kids under 4 is tough. When the two oldest are napping, the baby isn’t and vice versa. One day, when I’m old and gray, the small, little bathroom on the main floor will be complete and I will live in it every hour of the day since it will be the ONLY room completed in our house.

Until then, another sneak peak.

Isn’t this wood incredible?! It’s not wood. It is porcelain tile purchased from Home Depot. The picture doesn’t even do it justice. Everyone who has seen it in-person cannot believe it isn’t real wood. I love it!

I did the beadboard wallpaper which was so much cheaper ($20 for a roll that did my entire bathroom) and easier than installing real beadboard. And, if you can believe it, I cut and installed the baseboards and chair railing myself thank-you-very-much**!  Ana White has me thinking I can do anything and it turns out, I pretty much can. It’s coming along…

**Yes, I know that I’m not finished with the baseboard. It will go under the sink as well. This is a sneak peak, remember? Geeze.

  4. Hi! I have the same tile and we’re actually going to tile some rooms tomorrow! Do you remember the color of grout that you used?

    Thanks!
    Traci

    • Hey Traci,
I don’t remember the color, but I will say, Home Depot had 3 versions of this tile, all slightly different in color. They had samples of it grouted with different color grout as well so, I picked the color tile I wanted and used their suggestion for the color grout. If I heard the name, I would know it so, if you have options, let me know and I can tell you which one we used.

  5. Hi! I’d love to do this tile on my main floor. I have 2 large dogs and my hard woods are ruined with scratches. Now that you’ve had it for awhile, do you still love it?
